Outbound Letter 4
Dear Kaoyi,
Lately, I’ve been weighed down, and in this haze, I’ve turned to mindfulness. Walking has become a quiet refuge—each step steadies my breath, clears the fog from my mind, and eases the tightness in my chest. It’s a small thing, but it lifts me, body and soul, more than I expected. I imagine us hiking together at the Svalbard base, the cold air sharpening our thoughts, or sitting in silence on the Faroe Islands, meditating as the sea hums around us. I find myself longing for that—your presence beside me, sharing these moments. It feels distant, yet it pulls me forward.
Yours,
eric.
